Guangzhou Canton Tower + Beijing Street (BLOG SERIES 2014)

Thursday 2 October 2014

We checked out from our old hotel and went to the new hotel in central Guangzhou. The taxi ride which lasts around 1 hour costs around $70 yuan.

We got the taxi driver to drop us at the Guangzhou east railway station as we wanted to get the bus tickets back to Zhuhai.

Walking around the streets of Guangzhou
The royal garden hotel was abit hard to find, but once you have found your way to the hotel it is actually in a convenient location. It is near mini-marts and also breakfast places. There is a wet market located behind the hotel too. The pau store sells really great paus, it’s a must try!

After putting down our luggage, we decided to head to the nearby malls to explore.

There we had our lunch at this restaurant which sells famous “chee cheong fun”. The restaurant was near the Kecun train station, and the chee cheong fun was really quite fantastic. It was smooth and delicious, not so salty and it is also quite affordable.

Having quite a satisfying lunch, we went to the canton tower to take some photos. After all it’s the landmark of Guangzhou.

At the Canton

We took photos at the canton tower and ventured around that area, there was nothing much to do there, as it was getting late, we took a train to Beijing road at Gong Yuan Qian exits D.

Beijing Street was a really huge pedestrian walkway, there was much to see and shop around at Beijing Street. Although it isn’t Beijing, but we still found some delicious Beijing duck!

The malls are all glitzy and glossy. Huge LCD screens plaster the walls like its Tokyo. Beijing Road is just like a shopping paradise! Ideal for shoestringers like us.
